Influence of Moisture Content on Cutting Parameters and Fracture Characteristics of Spruce and Oak Wood

The objective of this study was to determine the effect moisture content on cutting parameters and fracture characteristics spruce oak wood. Samples Norway (Picea abies (L.) H. Karst.) English (Quercus robur L.) were dried required then used for machinability test circular sawblade machine. Results indicate that force feed increase with increasing up fiber saturation point (FSP). When increases above FSP, minimum values are achieved. Based performed experiments, toughness shear yield strength derived. Fracture decreases content. achieved at level FSP. Shear linearly content: decrease is 17 % compared samples calculated results, influence wood species discussed.
